Oh, I forgot.
Regarding the underwater hatch: I heard on LostCasts a long and confusing discussion about the mythology surrounding Apollo and how the supposed 6 Dharma Stations might correspond to 6 constellations. One is Cygnus (the Swan). One is Sagitta (the Arrow). We have seen those two. The ones we have not seen are Orion (the Hunter), Ophiuchus (the Serpent Handler), Corvus (the Raven), and Crater (the Goblet). Those guys were speculating that one of these remaining hatches might be underwater. It all sounded pretty darn impressive to me.

Very interesting stuff, Annie. And your search of the meaning of Desmond has led me to try something out.
Meat and Potatoes:
Jack: God is Gracious
John: God is Gracious/Merciful
Michael: Who is like God
Boone: Good
Charlie: Manly, Farmer (huh?)
Jin: Tenderness
Walt: Army General (no foolin', that's what it means)
Hugo (Hurley's real name): Bright in Mind and Spirit
James (Sawyer's real name): Supplanter
Sayid: Chief, Leader
Shannon: Little wise owl
Kate: Pure, Virginial
Claire: Clear, bright
Sun: Sun, Star
Rose: Of the Rose Blossom
Gravy:
Ana Lucia: Gracious and Light
Libby: Consecrated to God
Bernard: Bold as a Bear
Oh, and I looked up what names meant 'special'. If we ever see anyone named Halyn or Jazzelle turn up on the island, watch them closely.

Nicely done Emma.
To be fair to Jack (god knows i hate it) but he has been rambling about underwater hatches for ages now.

but if we can take the info that xeo has posted in the other thread titled "spoilers" as having any truth to them, according to TPTB there *is* no underwater hatch.

im starting to doubt about the underwater hatch..like it could very well be just a beach hatch/station or something...

OK, if there is a underwater hatch, I think it would be very likely because:
Jack says so. (just kidding)
When that woman drowned, Jack said she was caught in a riptide. Maybe she was caught when the hatch door opened.
In Episode 15-Homecoming, the passengers made a resistence across the beach facing into the forest but, Scott got killed. I think the other who got him came from the underwater hatch.
Desmond and Walt maybe down there.
Etc....

Like Captain Nemo's cool lounge place on the Nautilus, with the organ, and windows, etc. After all, this is Disney!
