Hey Jay,
I went to Comic-Con in San Diego back in '02, commuting from a friend's place in L.A. I hear it's evolved a bit since. Any tips for those of us planning to go again this year? Hear it's a little hectic. JLSK, anyone else, be glad to hear your input as well.

Heh - only been in San Diego for about 2 years - and was out of town last year for CC.
Don't know down town all that well. Not sure what hotels would be the best, etc. If it was north county area I could tell you more. If you have a specific question I can give you the best answer I have though...
If it is in July again, I'll be out of town again this year too - heading up the coast for a couple weeks around the 4th.

I was thinking of staying in National City, and taking the trolley downtown.

I live in San Diego. Just be mentally prepared for madness. I heard in past years all of the hotels were booked/overbooked over a ridiculous radius.
National City is pretty far if I'm not mistaken. But if you are close to a trolley line that's a huge plus. Don't rely on buses cause our bus system sucks.

Listen to the Dharmalars. They made a good guide of going to Comic Con.
