Oh well, some of the singing is good actually, some of it sounds like everybody else on the radio, and most of it is absolutely horrible. Don't know what you are listening to in America ... but here in Germany you have to be a good singer to be played on the radio ... so I would call that quite an accomplishment.

Well, some call me a free spirit, but I pretty much hate just about everything on the radio.

uuumm, can oLO or casper translate, please? olO pointed out some cheesy love song lyrics and some bad singers who are played on the radio as well. So not everything that is on the radio is world class quality.

I was proud of Birmingham in the auditions. When the judges rejected the contestants, everyone just said "Thank you." No one got belligerant and showed their low-class. In the very end, it was obvious Randy and Simon were trying to get a rise out of the lady and she didn't get upset at all. Thanks Birmingham for not showing your rear end.

I don't want to speak for Jay. But we all know that he is a musician, and I know a lot of musicians that hate Idol. Because they take people that don't really work hard for their music. Idol is for people that decide one day, "Hey I think I can sing, I deserve a record contract." And I know people that have worked their butts off just trying to get atleast one song on the radio, and are so talented and yet will never get a contract, because Idol does not look at real talent. There are a few on Idol that you know really want it, because they love to sing, and want to share their music with the world ie Chris, Taylor, and Bo. But majority just want the fame, and money. Of course they want the money and fame that come along with it, but they love playing so much that they would still play even if they never made it big. Someone once told me, "You don't join a band to make money." Most people in bands are broke all the time. Because they put so much into the band they have nothing left. And Idol is so critical of people. Instead of looking at talent they look at looks, and appeal. I understand they want someone that looks nice. But majority of the best voices are there are not from people that are good looking. Rod Stewert, Steve Perry, The 3 Tenors, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Berry White, etc. I think if Idol actually took into fact talent, and not just looks I think they would get more respect from Real Artists. I enjoy watching also, but sometimes the show makes me so made when they don't focus on the real talent. Which is why I wanted Taylor to win, because here was a guy that loved what he was doing. He did not care how ridiculous he looked, he loved what he was doing. And deserved it. I mostly agree with stuff For me Idol does nothing to help the evolution, and betterment of music. Some of the singers may be able to sing, but what do they do? They make a record full of tired cover songs that bring no new life to them, and the original stuff they come up with is horrendous. Kelly Clarkson might be the most successful, but her records are basically the same as all the other pop punk wannabes like Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson. They have a catchy up tempo pop rock song about leaving their boyfriend, and the "moving" ballad about their tough childhood. It may have been a good listen the first time someone did it, but not the ten thousandth time Idol is a personality contest whether it be the single mother that is trying to make it big, or the nice guy that never got a chance. You become attached to the people, and you buy the Cd's based on the fact that you like their personalty and how they came across on a reality show. You are so connected to these people that you think you really like the music, but you like the people first, music second. That isn't what music is about. Music is an art, a form of expression. It should be treated with the same respect as a painting, or a sculpture, and Idol doesn't do that. I agree with you completely, Jay. I play guitar myself, and love to sing. I think it's great that you right your own music. Most of the ppl on idol probably don't even no how to read music, let alone right it.
