I think I got it. Follow me on this one.
Early on there was a Hieroglyph of the Smoke Monster vs the Statue.
Smoke Monster = Other Guy from the beginning Reasons 1) We know Smokemonster can shape shift and take form of dead people, that's how he turned into Locke 2) Smoke monster told Ben to listen to Locke, AKA the smoke Monster, Fake Locke isn't there when Ben talks to his daughter because fake Locke = Guy from the beginning= Smoke Monster.
Jacob = Statue 1) Well he lives underneath the statue

I do not think Esau is the monster.
Aside from Darlton declaring "monster" (I now choose to note the lack of "the monster" in their wording) with the dead people, we don't 100% know the monster is the dead people. This is especially questionable with Ben's judgement. The monster clearly leaves through the vent in came in through prior to Alex's appearance behind him. Locke and Alex could be the same being...but I don't think either one of them is Smokey.

Somebody check me on this.... Everyone who was dead and is seen as alive on the island has been someone killed OFF the island and brought back in coffins (Christian & Locke). True??

Just a suggestion - start a new thread in the theories forums section to post any theories and such.

So not so much a theory as it is just an observation of the name Sayid. I actually wanted to look into the name's origins after he was "rose" from the dead. I found some interesting biblical reference's. The name Sayid is said to be the name of descendants of the House of Ishmael *Abrahams first son who was the son of Hagar the cocubine. I find it interesting that in both Jewish, Muslim, and Christian literature Ishmael is "resurrected by water" and God says that he will protect him and he will go on descendants of a great nation. Whether or not Sayid will go on to reproduce rapidly to create this "great nation" remains to be seen. But the idea that he was "ressurected from the healing water" is very interesting...Still, questioning whether or not it is really Sayid Personally, I hope that it is. Oh, by the way this is my first post.

has anyone noticed that people on the island have problems with their father? Jack and his father, Claire and her father (who was absent and we learned was actually christian shephard), Sun and Jin and Sun's father, Kate killed her stepfather, Locke and his father, Sawyer and his father, etc....even Ben had issues with his father. interesting theme, what do you think it means?

So MIB wants to go "home" and he had to have Jacob killed in order for him to stop bringing people to the island. Since Jacob knew MIB wanted him dead, why didn't he have one of the other kill MIB somehow?

Bullets didn't do much to MIL, so I'm guessing it's not easy to kill him no matter what form he's in.

Yeah but Ben had no problem stabbing Jacob, so does MIB have greater powers than Jacob.

Or do they both have equal amount of power but just in different ways.
If Jacob is Life, then surely he can die. If MIB is Death, then how could he die ever?

I was disappointed how Jacob died. He didn't put up much of a fight.
My theory is Jacob is like the Pheonix. He was kicked into the fire, and like a pheonix will rise from the ashes once again. I have a feeling that he MIGHT come back later

I don't think he's really all gone. Just his body.
