Not sure if it has been discussed yet. I have a theory that clones are involved. It could explain certain things. Like how Locke can walk. I re-watched Walkabout and noticed when when he first sits up in the sand the cuffs of his pants are already dirty. Maybe someone marched the clone onto the beach and took the crippled Locke away. He sat quietly on a beach somewhere until he was acclimated with his surroundings, Then he made his move.
The same thing with Claire. How could a 9 month pregnant woman get away from Ethan? Ethan was a bad mother (before Charlie and his 9mm came along). When Claire returned, she had no memory. Because she was cloned.
Notice the two guys on the boat that took Walt (one of them shot Sawyer) there's two of them (next to the bearded guy) and you can't see them well because they're in the shadows. but I took a good look and they look similar. Could they be clones?
Some can say, "then how is Locke having flash backs on the Locke centric episodes if he is a clone?" The theory is this: How do we know the Locke we're currently seeing is the Locke who's having the flashback? Can't we be watching a flashback for the crippled Locke who hidden away somewhere else on the island.
One last point: maybe thats why so many people are walking around missing parts (arms etc.) The original person doesn't want the clone to fool everyone into thinking they're the original. So they're disfigured in some way to make it known they're a copy and physically inferior to the original.
As usual I may be way out in left field on this. Thanks for reading.
